July Travel Report
The summer travel season is nearing its end as we close out the month of July. Domestic travel for the US has hit an all-time high with some airlines even adding new routes. Near record numbers of travelers have passed through US airports this summer. If you have had the opportunity to travel this summer, we hope it has invigorated your spirit and love for travel once again.
Italy
At the end of June, Italy announced the Roman Colosseum will now be allowing people to go underground. Once off limits, this incredible experience will give us the opportunity to go “backstage” in one of the greatest architectural masterpieces of all time.
July Travel Openings Around the World
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Ireland all opened for vaccinated Americans at the end of June or in the month of July. Additionally, part of Thailand opened for all vaccinated international travelers on July 1st. This means travelers to these countries will no longer have to quarantine; however, different rules apply for each country. In Thailand for example, vaccinated travelers can travel to Phuket without a quarantine, but must stay in Phuket for the first 7 nights. On day 8, travelers can travel anywhere in Thailand. And in Germany, Austria, Ireland and Switzerland, you will still need a PCR test, even if you have been vaccinated. It’s a reminder that travel is not off-limits, but it is best to speak to a travel professional and make sure you carefully read each country’s guidelines before planning any international trips.
