The Singular Patagonia

Established in a cold storage plant-turned-national monument, The Singular Patagonia is strategically placed at the gateway to Chile's beautiful Patagonia fjords. A healthy mix of adventure, history, and relaxation awaits Singular's discerning visitors.

Property Details

The original architecture of the Bories Cold Storage Plant, built in 1915, has been painstakingly preserved and a more modern separate wing added, giving the entire hotel – The Singular Patagonia – a surprisingly harmonious ambiance of gritty industrial and contemporary chic. Like any modern hotel, the rooms include a flat-screen television with premium satellite channels, but guests who prefer instead to be entranced by the views of the fjords outside their full-length window may also request a room without a television. The en suite baths feature a deep soaking tub and separate glass shower with a generous dressing area. Enjoy the lovely view from the plush armchair in the room.

Conservation and Care

In the historic section of the hotel guests see the fruits of the painstaking preservation and conservation of the soul of the plant. With the blessing of the Chilean National Monuments Council, and while adhering to the latest LEED certified protocols for environmentally friendly building, Singular transformed the building’s interior into an expansive dining room, bar, and reception area. A fusion of international and traditional Patagonian ingredients are on offer, paired with exquisite Chilean wines from the wine cellar. The Singular Wellness Spa is located in the modular wing and provides holistic treatments in its glass-walled haven overlooking the Fjord of Last Hope.

Immersive Experience

Beyond the luxurious hotel amenities, The Singular seeks to fully immerse its guests in the culture and landscape of this robust area. The history of the region can be explored in the hotel’s museum, with intriguing photographs of the plant illustrating its pastoral past and the young city of Puerto Natales flourishing over the years.

For natural landmarks that predate the plant and the city, embark on an expedition to the fascinating Torres del Paine National Park. The hotel sits on over 15,000 hectares of private nature reserves exclusive to the hotel guests for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The original wooden dock once used by freighters heading to Europe now allows speed boats to disembark to explore the breathtaking fjords.
