March 31, 2019, marks the 24th year of Ker & Downey in the United States as a worldwide tour operator. We are proud of our history and reputation built over years of dedicated service from our team of travel professionals. Our attention to detail and highly-individualized itineraries have garnered acclaim both in the tourism industry and among clients, who keep coming back to explore more of the world with us.
Ker & Downey’s Europe Product Manager Elizabeth Frels traveled to France with her husband Jason in celebration of their fifth wedding anniversary. Together, they experienced vintage French luxury in the heart of one of the most romantic destinations in the world.
Ker & Downey designer Trista Gage traveled to Kenya in November during a period known as the “short rains” season which can extend into early December. There are a number of advantages to traveling during the Kenya short rains season including fewer people and lots of green grass against a blue sky (a photographer’s dream). But the biggest draw is the wildlife: you’ll see grazing animals with babies and animals frolicking in the rain and puddles.
We say it a lot: having the “travel bug” is a requirement on this team. Ker & Downey’s Regional Business Development Manager Barrett Caldwell definitely qualifies; before he landed at Ker & Downey he had visited 55 countries and been on the go all over the globe for four years. Even after all that travel, Barrett still learns something new with every journey he takes. We caught up with him for a reflective Q&A after his eye-opening journey to China.
At Ker & Downey, we think Africa is always a good idea. We asked our staff to share their favorite Africa trips: from the safari experiences in the south and east, to the ancient history in the north, Africa certainly keeps us inspired.
Want to travel someplace new, but don’t know where to go? Look no further than our worldwide roundup. We polled our staff and asked them about their favorite trips and destinations around the world. Have a look at what they had to say, and click here to see our favorites in Africa, too.
The team at Ker & Downey gets to explore around the world every day, and we love to share the most inspiring findings right here on our blog. We’re looking back at the features from our blog that had you talking (and sharing) in 2018.
North Africa and the Middle East have been ignored by travelers who feel cautious because of the recent negative press. We think it would be unfair to paint the whole region in a negative light when there are so many cultural gems waiting to be explored. The fact is, safe travel to the Middle East and North Africa is within easy reach with Ker & Downey. These are just four countries that we feel you should visit while the crowds are light.
We take pride in our designers’ abilities to handcraft the perfect itinerary for each client. They find success time and again because each designer has extensive knowledge and on-the-ground destination experience. In other words, they travel! Actually going there is the best way to learn about a destination. We caught up with Ker & Downey designer Ken Hermer fresh off his trip to Tanzania for a quick Q&A about his highlights.
How many countries can you count on a globe? With 195 across the world, planning a trip can be a challenge. At Ker & Downey, we help you find the best destinations suited for your interests and we are always ready to suggest which countries should be on your upcoming year’s travel list. We have taken our top picks from Africa, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to help you plan your next great journey. Bon voyage!
