Kenya Fly-In Safari

Arrive in Nairobi, spending the evening at Hemingways Nairobi before continuing your journey. In the morning you will be collected from the hotel and board your private charter to Amboseli. This area is best known for its unrivaled views of Kilimanjaro, and its large elephant population, and Tortilis Camp will be your home for the next two nights. Game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the Park, and within the camp’s private 30,000 acre game concession.

After breakfast on your fourth day in Kenya, you continue to Meru. Stay in Elsa’s Kopje, named after Elsa the lioness, made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film “Born Free”. Elsa’s Kopje remains one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, with one of the most spectacular settings and it is the best location to view rhino in their natural habitat in Kenya. Elsa’s Kopje blends into the rocky crags of the “kopje” (small hill), built above the site of George Adamson’s original campsite.

Day six of your journey finds you departing for the Masai Mara. Located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, Sand River Masai Mara is located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border. Situated on a secluded and picturesque site, Sand River Masai Mara replicates the heyday of exclusive permanent tented camps of the late 1920’s. The interior fixtures and furnishings mirror this period perfectly, reminding all who visit of those countless Hollywood movies that have paid homage to a classic era of African adventure. The camp is an ideal destination, at any time of the year, for those wishing to enjoy exceptional game-viewing. The National Reserve is best known for its large concentrations of big cats, such as leopard, cheetah and, of course, lion.

After breakfast on your eighth day, fly back to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Hemingways Nairobi where a dayroom has been reserved for you today, giving you time to refresh and rest before your onward flight. You will leave Kenya this evening, taking with you fond memories of a wonderful journey.
