Lindsey Heath is one of Ker & Downey’s Brand Ambassadors. She grew up watching National Geographic, sparking a desire to see the untamed landscape of Africa. Years later, she got her chance with a a safari in Tanzania where she celebrated her 30th birthday at a migration camp in the Serengeti. That was her first Ker & Downey trip. On her next trip with us, she traveled to Turkey and Armenia. While in Armenia, she planned to be baptized at Etchmiadzin, the site of the oldest cathedral in the world. Being that it was a very historic place in Christian history (as Armenia was the first country to adopt Christianity as its official religion), she felt a strong spiritual connection there.
Favorite place you’ve traveled: India. It’s a country rich in culture, beauty, and fabulous cuisine.
Favorite city and why: Barcelona because it’s right on the Mediterranean, has incredible shopping and dining, and the Gaudi art and architecture fascinates me.
What is the best thing about traveling: Freedom and the excitement of not knowing what adventures lie ahead. The friends and memories made last a lifetime and your world-view is broadened and forever changed.
Travel accessory you can’t live without? iPhone charger
Favorite plane ride activity: Making to do lists because I have the time to get organized.
Top of my travel bucket list: China, but let’s be honest, I’d go anywhere with Ker & Downey!
Two weeks + and unlimited budget, where are you going? Australia/New Zealand
Beach or mountains: Beach, I’m a California girl!
How do you take your coffee? As floofy as possible (Frappuccino when I feel like a cold drink and cappuccino with extra foam when I’d like something hot). If I need a quick boost of energy, I’ll go for chocolate covered espresso beans!
If they could bottle your personality what would the label read? Never satisfied
My theme song is: Turn! Turn! Turn! by The Byrds
Any pets? Two Yorkies and an Eclectus parrot
Something I said I’d never do but did anyway was: Move to Texas (and boy am I glad I did)!
Two things I can’t live without are: Family and good food
It’s Sunday morning at 10 a.m. If I’m not sleeping, I’m: Spending time with my family or fur/feather babies.
My favorite physical activity is: Going for a walk, immersed in nature
One thing I love that everyone else dislikes is: Kombucha and eating gluten-free. Also, all animals…even snakes.
The first thing I do when I wake up is: Hit snooze 3 times
One thing people are surprised to find out about me is: I use my car seat warmer in the Houston summers and I’m an avid Michigan football fan.
The last concert I went to was: Gin Blossoms at Dosey Doe
My favorite TV show to watch as a kid was: Care Bears, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite…pretty girly!
If I could instantly learn a new language, I would learn: Spanish
