For the past six years, the annual Safari Awards has recognized the best properties and organizations in the business, awarding winners in 18 categories ranging from best property and best cuisine to best charitable organization in Africa. The winners are the best in the business and we are proud to partner with many of these recognized properties in providing the best experience for our clients.
Taking home the top honors for the second year in a row with Best Safari Property in Africa is Zarafa Camp in Botswana’s Linyanti Game Reserve. Authenticity, luxury and simplicity define the camp, owned by award-winning filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert. With just four tents, it’s an intimate property that provides an unparalleled game and wilderness experience in Botswana’s floodplains. And just like Dereck and Beverly’s other properties, Zarafa Camp provides a Canon camera body with various lenses to use during your stay. Each night your photos are downloaded onto a CD for you to take home.
Game drives and walking safaris are exciting in the Selinda Reserve, renowned for its predators. Its prime location overlooking the Zibadianja Lagoon – the source of the world-famous Savute Channel – is secluded and offers abundant wildlife viewing with a possibility to see resident prides of lion, huge herds of elephants, and packs of wild dog, as well as a large variety of nocturnal wildlife.
