Property Details

The Peninsula Beijing completed a major renovation in 2016. Formerly hosting some 530 rooms and suites, its foorplans were overhauled and transformed to just 230 rooms. These spaces are now among the largest in Beijing, each inclusive of a separate bedroom, living room, bathroom, and dressing area. Classic earth tones and clean lines define the Peninsula’s interiors across its 14 floors. Accommodations are all graced with sustainable mahogany finishes and state-of-the-art room controls for optimal lighting and climate control. Furnishings in these spaces were commissioned by Italian design house Cassina and are exclusive to the hotel.

Some 61 suites—one quarter of the hotel’s accommodations—elevate each stay to the next level of splendor. Consider the Beijing Suites, each based on the design of a prominent aristocrat’s home, and complete with their own private cinema space. The Loft collection of dual-level spaces features captivating floor-to-ceiling windows, a modern space with a view that won’t be found anywhere else in China.

Dining options include global flavors and Chinese classics, all elegantly composed and presented. Each of the four restaurants sources their ingredients from 22 farms across China, or from the on-site greenhouse, to ensure that ingredients are procured responsibly. From Cantonese standards and classic teas to modern flavor combinations, gastronomy is given pride of place here.

Treatments at the Peninsula Spa draw on the practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine and time-tested wellness philosophies. A comprehensive fitness center includes a sauna, steam room, and heated indoor swimming pool for a varied active experience on holiday.

Close to the most well-known landmarks in China’s capital, The Peninsula Beijing is the perfect destination for those seeking to see the sights. The hotel is within walking distance of the famous Tiananmen Square, where millions of visitors tour the Forbidden Gardens each year. Old meets new along Wangfujing Walking Street with international brands and local artisans offering their wares in the bustling streets. Guests get an in-depth look at the many facets of Chinese culture—antiques, Beijing opera, and the Great Wall among others—with the Peninsula Academy series of programs led by local experts.
