Step inside the fairy tale-themed Chateau Monfort, an elegant five-star boutique hotel housed in an Art Nouveau building built in 1903. It is located in the heart of Milan overlooking Piazza Tricolore, near the most famous museums and the renowned fashion quadrangle.
Property Details
Chateau Monfort, originally a private home spread across three floors, was designed by Paolo Messanotte, a celebrated Milanese architect. In 2009, the property underwent a massive three-year refurbishment. The re-imagining added a fourth floor and transformed the building into the delightful, eclectic hotel it is today. Inspired by the world of fairy tales, opera, and ballet, the 77 rooms and suites in this unique hotel feature plenty of whimsy. Pastel colors, floral patterns, and butterflies adorn the walls. The romantic design and decor is meant to trigger childhood memories of stories like Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland, or operatic performances like Madame Butterfly.
Inside Chateau Monfort, you’ll find a crystal-domed courtyard, Spa Amore & Psiche, a steam room, and a wine cellar that holds wine tasting sessions paired with cold cuts and cheeses. At Sala del Rubacuori, enjoy meals amid rich table settings and curious details—damask walls, rows of cups and teapots that transform into lamps, and dishes that seem to be dancing along the walls. It’s a scene that could be straight out of the Mad Hatters Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland. On the menu, you’ll find traditional Mediterranean dishes, Milanese specialties, and dishes catering to vegans and vegetarians.
The Chateau Monfort is positioned in one of the most elegant areas of Milan and just a short walk from the high street shops of Corso Venezia. In addition to the trendy fashion shops, Milan is home to one of Leonardo Da Vinci’s greatest masterpieces: The Last Supper, located in the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Ker & Downey can arrange for a private full-day tour of Milan with a private historian guide to give insight into Da Vinci’s life before viewing one of the world’s most recognizable paintings. A stay at Chateau Monfort is a must on your luxury Italian holiday.
