Rekero Camp is a seasonal camp located in the Masai Mara and is set up to be ideally situated for viewing the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra through the Serengeti and Mara ecosystems. The hosts have worked together with their team of professional Maasai safari guides and camp crew for years, creating a well-functioning camp that provides guests with a truly memorable experience.
There are just nine spacious tents at Rekero Camp, split between two family tents and seven twin or double tents that can also accommodate an extra bed. All of the tents are spread out under the shade of the trees at the Talek River’s edge and feature en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and safari showers. The luxuries of Rekero Camp extend well beyond the bush-meets-modern design of the tents, however. Personal butlers and a sense of quietness follow guests throughout camp as they stand in the midst of Kenya’s spectacular Masai Mara ecosystem.
The safari chefs at Rekero Camp delight in producing farmhouse-style cuisine that utilizes influences from both the East and the West. In addition to dining and sundowners at the main lodge, guests of Rekero Camp can also enjoy picnics in the bush for breakfast or lunch. All of the amenities of Rekero Camp remain in full view of the river and its steady stream of seasonal wildlife.
Rekero Camp is perfectly located for guests to experience every aspect of the Masai Mara wilderness. Sprawled out near the confluence of the Mara and Talek Rivers, Rekero Camp offers excellent game viewing opportunities, especially during the annual migration when over one million wildebeest and two-hundred thousand zebra journey from the Serengeti to the Mara. Indeed, guests of Rekero Camp enjoy unobtrusive access to one of the greatest concentrations and diversities of wildlife in the world, either from custom-built safari vehicles or on foot with expert Il Dorobo and Masai guides. The camp can also arrange visits to one of the guides’ villages as well as a hot air balloon safari from one of the local lodges. Of course, one can also simply opt to relax back at the camp and share in the serenity of the riverbank with the lodge’s resident elephants, birds, and buffalo. The day’s itinerary can be easily tailored to fit every guest’s needs and desires as they experience total exclusivity in the Masai Mara.Request Information
