Situated within the Olare Orok Conservancy, just north of the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, Mara Plains Camp is a secluded get-away perfect for all travelers. It is one of the smallest camps in the region with only seven tents. Additionally, it is one of only two Relais & Chateaux properties in Kenya. That means you can expect the utmost luxury and comfort in the bush, including a deep copper roll-top bathtub. The unique tents sit on elevated platforms among a cluster of trees on the banks of the Ntiakitiak River. Each of the octagonal tents is open to the stunning views across sweeping savannahs. Dressing areas and serene verandas offer the utmost privacy.

Guests of the luxury Mara Plains Camp enjoy daily meals in the main dining room, designed with unique decor that is warm and inviting. The Olare Orok Conservancy has the lowest vehicle density in the Masai Mara. It also has the highest concentration of big cats in Africa. Experience the wild on a morning, evening, or nighttime game drives in open 4×4 vehicles. With over 100,000 acres to traverse, you’ll see a myriad of animals like zebra, eland, wildebeest, and giraffe in their element but not a lot of people. There are also 300 bird species in the area.

Spend the morning on a walking safari examining animal footprints, plants, and smaller creatures. Visit a local Maasai village and learn more about the traditions and culture of the historic community. Masai women also lead local craft workshops for guests. For the adventurers, tour the landscape and see wildlife during an exciting hot air balloon excursion. Finish the adventure with a champagne breakfast.
