Property Details
Ol Malo House comprises a three-bedroom main home and two separate cottages, sleeping just guests 12 in total. The main home blends into its wild surroundings and was built hidden into a natural escarpment. Your views face the sprawling Northern Frontier District landscape beyond. All bedrooms are en-suite, providing sublime convenience and privacy for every guest.
As with its sister camp Ol Malo Lodge, the interiors at Ol Malo House pay tribute to the land and culture of the region. Handmade by Samburu women, colorful lighting warms each space. While each accommodation is decorated in its own unique style, thatched roofs, stone walls, and gleaming carved woods are constants.
At the heart of the main home find a cozy sitting room and dining room, conceived to be a natural gathering spot. Outside, follow the flagstone path to the shimmering swimming pool and outdoor lounge. Complete with dining arrangements and a barbecue area, lively outdoor meals in this space cap off a perfect day on safari.
This game-rich region of Kenya makes for thrilling game activities. Local Samburu guides lead your expedition on foot or in open game vehicles, keeping an eye out for the predators and prey that call this region home. Count elephant, buffalo, zebra, reticulated giraffe, greater kudu, wild dog, lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena among the year-round sightings.
Consider an overnight adventure at the Look Out. Positioned next to a watering hole, you have a front-row seat to the late-night and early-morning activity as the local animal populations gather to drink. Similarly, an evening in the Leopard Blind increases your chances of glimpsing the nocturnal activities of this elusive big cat. Total immersion in the magnificent landscape is possible with an overnight bush camping excursion to Ol Malo Nomad.
As with Ol Malo Lodge, guests at Ol Malo House have the unique opportunity to interact with lives of the local Samburu communities. Important work with the Ol Malo Trust includes medical care, clean water initiatives, and enrichment programs for children. Embark with your guide to visit these programs and see their impact in action.
