Two of the rooms can be converted to triples. The cottage is set in beautifully landscaped gardens with a private swimming pool. The cottage also has its own staff, vehicle, and driver and is completely self-contained while still allowing guests to make use of the main lodge facilities and activities.

Star Beds

The Kiboko and Koija Star Beds are twenty and thirty minutes from the lodge, respectively. Each bed is on a raised, handcrafted wooden platform, partially hidden under a thatched roof, allowing guests to have their beds wheeled out under the stars or under the protection of the roof. Both Kiboko and Koija have two double and one twin platform with en-suite facilities and showers. Guests are hosted by a team of Samburu and Laikipia Maasai warriors, and meals are prepared on site in a traditional camp kitchen. Kiboko is situated among a kopje of rocks overlooking the waterhole, and Koija, the newer set, is located on the banks of the Ewaso N’giro River, cantilevered over the flowing waters below. The platforms can be reached by foot, horseback, camel, or vehicle, and an exciting option of a Star Bed Expedition can be arranged, with guests traveling between the two platforms and the main lodge during their stay.

All of Loisaba Conservancy is situated in an untamed wild, but it is constitutes a working cattle farm where wildlife research and community conservation are important parts of the everyday operations. There are no game park rules here, and wildlife is free to roam where they please without fences. This wilderness area is a haven for over 260 species of bird and 50 species of other wildlife. Game drives, horseback riding, camel safaris, and guided walks are amazing year round, but there are numerous other activities available. Mountain biking is popular, but for those feeling even more adventurous, they can take a quad bike excursion out into the bush, knowing that the proceeds from this activity are used to support local education. The local Samburu and Laikipia Maasai are full partners in the project and excursions to learn about their daily life are fascinating experiences. Seasonally, rafting is possible on the two rivers, and fishing can be arranged as well. In addition, the lodge features a spectacular spa where guests can indulge in a number of treatments while enjoying stunning views over the Laikipia plateau. Contact us today to travel to Loisaba in Laikipia, Kenya.
