Ker & Downey designer Devon Chapman came to Ker & Downey with an extensive history of personal travel: a solo trip to France at 15, living in Thailand, teaching in southern Switzerland, a philanthropy trip to Uganda, strolling the markets in Munich, riding motorcycles in central Vietnam, hiking in Peru, spending a night under the stars in Morocco… the list goes on and on. But after her recent trip to Japan, she would say Japan is now one of her favorite places she has ever been. Given the opportunity, she’d return year after year. That’s a pretty bold statement from someone who has traveled so much!
Japan is a destination that continues to grow in popularity year after year. It’s so popular that you really need about a year to plan a trip there if you want prime hotel space. Devon is sharing the highlights from her trip to Japan with us below.
Where were you? Japan, including Tokyo.
A highlight of the trip? Exploring the neighborhoods of Tokyo and sampling all different varieties of Japanese cuisine. Fellow foodies will enjoy Ker & Downey’s Japanese suggested culinary tour, Savoring Japan.
Favorite Activity? Having lunch with a renowned sushi chef and learning about the art, passion, and tradition that goes into creating beautiful Japanese sushi.
