Martian Dome

Futuristic and fascinating, the Martian Domes at Sun City Camp are unique to Wadi Rum. The domes feature a series of transparent panels that allow you to see the stars while snuggled up in your bed. Each dome is further enhanced by an ample deck, individual air conditioning, and a private minibar.

The main gathering place at Sun City Camp is a large reception tent, complete with wireless Internet access and plenty of places to lounge. This is where you’ll take your meals too, enjoying heaping platefuls of enriching salads, spiced vegetables, and more fresh fare presented on a buffet. Dinners feature local cuisines and Middle Eastern specialties, perfectly prepared in traditional Bedouin style. “Zarb” is your main dish, a traditional whole lamb that has been roasted within a sand pit.

When you’ve had your fill, relax on luxurious cushions and rugs of traditional Bedouin low seating. Opt for an after-dinner drink or a puff of Shisha while the music of the oud and rababah accompanies traditional folk dances. Torches, lanterns, and candles throughout your camp site make for an even more intimate feel and complete your true Jordanian experience.

Embark with local Bedouin guides on 4-wheel-drive desert vehicles to view the land made famous by Lawrence of Arabia’s campaign in the early 1900s. View prehistoric rock carvings and stunning rock formations including the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and Lawrence’s Jail, the remains of a partly closed off wadi.
