Tucked away on the banks of the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls River Lodge pairs its proximity to Victoria Falls with private safari experiences in the remote corners of Zambezi National Park. The first private game lodge in Zimbabwe’s Zambezi National Park, Victoria Falls River Lodge is one of those rare gems where exceptional wildlife, fine dining, luxurious riverside accommodation, and an abundance of adrenaline-pumping activities all collide to form an unforgettable experience.
Victoria Falls River Lodge consists of 13 spacious tents stretched along the Zambezi riverbank. Erected on raised decks under vast A-frame thatched roofs, each suite has been outfitted in earth tones of white, sage, and duck egg blue for optimal comfort. Central to the Victoria River Lodge experience are the luxurious amenities, which range from king-plus sized beds and air conditioning to open plan bathrooms with romantic freestanding baths and indoor and outdoor showers. Several luxury tents boast their own private plunge pools, while five family tents offer adjoining tented rooms for the children. All tents come with private viewing verandahs facing the Zambezi River, inviting guests to sit back and relax as the hippos wallow in the waters beyond.
The main hub of Victoria Falls River Lodge is an open-air structure carefully positioned for uninterrupted views of the river and its resident wildlife. Animals roam freely on the property at all times of the day: troops of monkeys and baboons parade past the tents, herds of elephants lumber by on their way to river, pods of hippos noisily make their presence known along the shallower pools, and hungry warthogs keep the lawns neatly trimmed. Even the occasional big cat is known to make surprise appearances. Guests are simply invited to sit back with their favorite cocktail and watch them all as they take shelter from the heat of the sun and feed on the banks of the river. They can also take advantage of the many amenities available to them at Victoria Falls River Lodge, from the wireless Internet access and the sparkling infinity pool to the scrumptious all-day dining available in the dining area overlooking the mighty Zambezi.
Guests of Victoria Falls River Lodge have their choice of safaris on both land and water. Leisurely sunrise and sunset river cruises along the Zambezi allow for spectacular riverside wildlife viewings, while four-wheel-drive game drives set out into the depths of the 150,000-acre Zambezi National Park in search of the area’s diverse wildlife. In addition, night drives and walking safaris allow guests to experience the wilderness from different perspectives, while multiple Junior Discoverer Drives make the wild accessible and engaging for younger guests.
Birders will rejoice in the 400-plus species that make their home here, and adrenaline junkies will find themselves within view of the spray of Victoria Falls, where a long list of thrilling adventures await. Guests are then invited to end a day of epic adventure back at Victoria Falls River Lodge with traditional tales from Africa while toasting over the bonfire.Request Information
