Property Details
Greater Mana Expedition joins together six guests to explore Mana Pools National Park for one day, followed by five days in the private Sapi Reserve. Both areas are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the middle-Zambezi biosphere reserve. The journey consists of walking safaris, game drives, and boat expeditions designed to bring you deeper into this remote and remarkable part of Zimbabwe. Four nights are spent in a tented camp, while the other two are spent in raised “river beds” in a dry Sapi riverbed.
The luxury mobile camp has en-suite bathroom facilities, al fresco bucket shower, and flush toilet. Meet with other guests in the main area to dine on delicious cuisine and unwind on the private veranda.
The “river beds” are positioned on platforms overlook a small pool of water and are shaded by various trees. A bathroom facility with a bucket shower is available for freshening up. Feel like an explorer of the past while sleeping in a large, comfortable bed under a blanket of stars.
A large focus of the Greater Mana Expedition is on conserving this incredible ecosystem. Camps are run on portable solar power and lanterns provide a soft glow at night.
Visit a baobab tree estimated to be 1,200 years old. The Zambezi River is the life source flowing through the region and many of the treks focus on the rich diversity surrounding one of the world’s oldest rivers, home to hippos and crocodiles. Set out on a canoe to spot wildlife in the wetlands.
Families wanting their children to experience a beautiful African safari are welcome. The majority of the area is best seen on foot, making this an ideal walking safari destination. Venture out into the wilderness to see elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, zebras, and wild dogs roaming about and lounging under the forest trees in this protected, pristine wilderness.
