Little Chem Chem

The intimate camp of Little Chem Chem in Tanzania is set on the edge of an acacia forest, with the Babati mountain range and the hills of Tarangire in the distance creating a stunning backdrop for the elegant camp. It overlooks Lake Burunge where animals and colorful birds come for a cool drink of water and because of the beautiful early morning sunrises, the camp has been nicknamed the “Sunrise Camp.”

With just five tents, Little Chem Chem is a cozy Lake Manyara camp with an authentic “Out of Africa” atmosphere. The tents are exquisite, with large bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, a dressing area, and bucket showers. Outside, each tent at Little Chem Chem has its own fire pit to warm you on cool African nights as you listen to the sounds of the bush come to life. Each morning breakfast is delivered to your tent and can be enjoyed inside or at the fire pit. In the evening, dinners are enjoyed in the dining tent or with a fire pit under a tree.

Situated within 40,000 acres of private wilderness, the area is home to one of the most prolific elephant populations in all of East Africa. Days at Little Chem Chem are spent on game drives seeking out wildlife and exploring the area on foot. Experienced guides lead you on walking safaris where you learn how to track various animals. Early morning game drives are rewarding with a stop for tea while the sun rises over Lake Manyara.
