Of the three accommodations found in the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, Ker & Downey prefers Dwyka Tented Lodge, a secluded village of luxury tents located on land that was once a hunting range for the ancient Khoisan peoples. The dramatic surrounds features a horseshoe-shaped dry ravine and impressive rock formations, many with evidence of the ancient tribes that once roamed the Karoo. The atmosphere inside Sabona Dwyka Tented Lodge is that of pioneering adventure, with nine tents offering the definition of luxury in the Little Karoo, each with its own private veranda and refreshing plunge pool facing outward to the wild. Inside, elegant canvas drapes the ceilings, and en-suite bathrooms boast under-floor heating, twin washbasins, freestanding bathtubs, and outdoor showers.
