Property Details
Indigenous flora envelops Savanna Lodge’s nine suites, each of which boast a tremendous view of the surrounding bushveld. While seven of the suites feature romantic canvas roofs draped upon permanent structures, all of the suites are appointed with elegant hand-crafted furniture and comforting details. The Savanna Suite is available for exclusive use and provides an extremely private option for families and large parties. Complete with a private butler, guide, and tracker, the Savanna Suite also features a secluded patio and plunge pool that overlook one of the camp’s watering holes and its wildlife visitors.
With trackers who were born in the Kruger area and game rangers with a passion for wildlife, game drives at Savanna Lodge are as intimate as they are educational. Creatures large and small are highlighted on drives, among them the mighty Big Five, cheetah, wild dog, hippo, and over 400 species of bird. Sabi Sand is known as the “Land of the Leopard” and is famous for extraordinary numbers of the graceful African cat. Through the Bushbabies program at Savanna Lodge, even the youngest guests can experience the wildlife of the Sabi Sand with a focus on education and conservation.
Between game drives, the main lodge of Savanna Lodge offers a variety of welcome amenities and experiences including massage services, an international wine cellar, a full bar, and sumptuous dining options. Dinners composed of international gourmet selections are enjoyed on the main lodge deck, around the campfire, or in a candle-lit clearing with the sights and sounds of nature providing entertainment between the melodies from a local choir. The main lodge’s media center allows guests to transfer their safari memories directly to CD or DVD. Capture more memories outside of Savanna Lodge at the local Shangaan village where a local medicine man offers insight to local culture, or visit an elephant sanctuary to commune with the gentle giants of the bush.
