Guests arrive at Kariega Settlers Drift either by boat on the tranquil Bushman’s River, or by vehicle along the road used by the last South African settlers in 1820. Indeed, time seems to have stood still since then in this remote and untouched part of the Kariega wilderness.

Jutting out of the rolling green hills are nine spacious and seamless tented suites styled with natural color palettes and accents of repurposed wood. Inside, there is a rare feeling of being simultaneously enveloped in luxury and surrounded by rugged natural beauty, with secluded viewing decks overlooking the Bushman’s River, indoor and outdoor showers, and a free-standing contemporary tub, all with full panoramic views of the area and the frequent visitors of giraffe and zebra.
