Selinda Camp in Botswana is a beautiful tented luxury safari camp built among the trees, with splendid views over the open floodplains. Each Meru-style tent is set under thatch with a veranda for relaxing and watching the animals and a private bathroom with a shower open to the African sky.
Selinda Camp in Botswana is situated in the Selinda Private Reserve that straddles the Selinda Spillway. This waterway links the Okavango Delta in the west to the Kwando/Linyanti river system in the east. Here, you will find the game-rich floodplains of the Selinda and the Zibalianja Lagoon.
Selinda tented luxury safari camp is built on an island that is kept in cool shade and overlooks the waters of the Selinda Spillway. Selinda Camp is very private and exclusive with only nine large, luxurious tents located under cool thatched canopies. All tents have incredible views across the palm-studded floodplains. Each tent has elegantly appointed en suite bathrooms with stone baths that are the highlight of the camp’s tented accommodations. The bathroom is unique in its open-air design, allowing lots of natural lighting to permeate the tents. Each of the tents is thoroughly screened and “bug proof”. The tents are very spacious and beautifully appointed with furniture and décor that has been collected throughout Africa. Each four poster bed is surrounded by mosquito netting, and overhead fans add a lovely ambience to the traditional décor, not to mention a breezy coolness to the feel of the interior.
The main area of the Selinda Camp comprises a series of large decks which are set for optimum game viewing and relaxing moments of absorbing the spectacular views of this incredible land. No matter where guests choose to spend their time, whether it be in the lounge or the dining area, no view is ever obstructed. Selinda Camp is proud to offer guests a sampling each day of their incredible cuisine offerings. From three course dinners to elaborate and elegant brunches, Selinda has distinguished itself as a first class luxury lodge set in the Okavango Delta. Off of the “star deck” used for dining, the main lodge contains a photo and art gallery located above a temperature controlled wine cellar and curio shop. Guests can indulge themselves in the plunge pool of the lodge or join the other guests around a traditional campfire.
All of the camp activities are centered around the daily game drives beginning in the early morning hours, in the afternoon, and at night. Experienced professional guides lead the way in 4×4 Toyota Land Cruisers, and guests can anticipate a wealth of animal activity during any of the game drives. At night, the predators begin to move, and for those interested in the “circle of life”, it is an idyllic time to experience Africa in its rawest form. The Selinda Camp provides daily game walks, and guests are encouraged to experience this incredible activity at least once in a lifetime. Accompanied by an armed, professional guide, these walks give guests a chance to experience Africa from the ground. The Selinda is host to a wide variety of bird species (well over 300), and there is no better way to view them than on foot. In addition, the wildlife is abundant in this region. Several species of antelope can be found along with hippo, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, lion, and large numbers of elephants.Request Information
