Qorokwe Camp is Wilderness Safaris’ intimate camp with only eight tented suites. Each spacious retreat is adorned with brass and African accents paired with contemporary interiors. Wood floors greet your feet, and a patterned pillow in the comfortable beds greets your head. Recline and lounge facing the spectacular views. One family unit offers a pool to dip into after a warm day on safari. Freshen up in the indoor or outdoor shower or take a soak in the deep, white tub. Tents are flooded with ample natural light with large floor-to-ceiling windows. Plenty of neutral tones allow the green grasslands and animal life to really be the focal point of your stay. Sit on the outdoor deck, unwinding on the lounger under the African sun.

Enjoy delicious fresh meals in the dining area and sip on a cocktail in the bar overlooking the hippo-heavy deep-blue lagoon. It’s easy to spot them splashing through the waterway, mouth agape, while impalas look on. Wander back to your room via the raised walkways.

The magnificent lagoon attracts a wild and wonderful cast of characters. Lions roam about and yawn languidly under the shade near Qorokwe Camp. Herds of giraffe elegantly meander from tree-to-tree and zebras whip by, their black and white stripes becoming a spectacular blur.

Predators and prey are both seen in the savannahs and swamps. Water is a constant way of life here, making this a perfect game viewing area year-round from a canoe. A trained guide will point out smaller wetland wildlife as you glide along. Palm-studded islands and acacia woodlands attract a chirpy variety of birds fluttering through the trees and feeding in the lagoon.

At night, take a drive to spot the sparkling eyes of the nocturnal owls and leopards. Sometimes their sounds are heard before they are seen in this remote and remarkable wilderness.
