Property Details

Mombo Camp has nine luxuriously furnished tents raised off the ground. The guests’ rooms and connecting walkways rise up to six feet above the ground, allowing game to wander freely through the camp while at the same time allowing for guest safety. One often finds that animals take refuge under the rooms. The canvas rooms are spacious and well appointed. They feautre en suite facilities and an additional outdoor shower for those who enjoy a shower under the stars.

The dining room, pub, and living area overlook the open plain in front of the camp. Additionally, there is a plunge pool for relaxation in the heat of the day. Activities at Mombo include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4×4 vehicles.

These luxury camps in Botswana offer abundant big game viewing, arguably the best in the region. The highlight is the concentration of plains game and the predators, including the big cats. Lion sightings are particularly good. Guests can also see leopard, large herds of buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, elephant, hyena, giraffe, wildebeest, and zebra. Additionally, the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Program reintroduced black and white rhino with outstanding success to the area.

Mombo : Little Mombo

Meanwhile, Little Mombo sits on the other end of the island. It is a smaller, more intimate version of her sister camp with just four tented luxury guest rooms. However, each are comfortably furnished, spacious, and well appointed with en suite facilities under canvas like Mombo Camp. An additional outdoor shower allows guests to shower under a night sky full of stars. The camp sits under the shade of jackalberry and sausage trees overlooking a floodplain. From there, guests can spot herds of wildlife (including predators). Little Mombo includes its own boma, dining area, kitchen, lounge, and pool.
