Settle in to Baker’s Lodge, an intimate safari lodge surrounded by large trees that offer a shady respite from the heat. Each of the 10 individual thatched roof suites are raised on pillars with decks offering gorgeous vistas of the river. Guests will feel secluded in their private abodes, cooled down by fans. Netted windows can also be opened to take advantage of the breezes. Relax on the solid-wood furniture and freshen up in the en suite bath with running water warmed with solar power. Eco-conscious attributes also include solar powered lighting.

Savor your breakfast in the raised dining area or sit al fresco and watch the sunset after a day on safari. Jump onto the jetty to await a water-craft ready to take you on an adventure to get closer to the crashing Murchison Falls. This is where the Nile squeezes into a narrow gap of rock, making quite the sound as it breaks through. Trek up to the top to see a different perspective or hop into a hot air balloon to soar above.

Baker’s Lodge is perfectly placed near Uganda’s largest national park, home to birds, beasts, and a bounty of primates. Explore the quiet stretch of the Nile’s papyrus delta where wildlife gathers. Mist rises from the mirror-like water in the peaceful mornings, best enjoyed during a morning cruise. Wander the savannah frequented by elegant giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Search for chimpanzees on a safari drive or look out for the chirpy and colorful variety of birds in the wetlands. Nearby wetlands attract a chirpy and colorful variety of birds. Elephants play and drink the water, hippos lounge, and crocodiles show off their toothy grins.
