Gorilla Forest Camp in Bwindi consists of just eight tents on elevated platforms, each one carefully designed and situated to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment. The tents feature wooden floors on the interior, as well as beautiful queen-sized beds that have been hand-carved by Ugandan artists specifically for Gorilla Forest Camp. Private verandas and en-suite bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs are perfectly positioned to look out onto the seemingly endless Bwindi Impenetrable National Park so guests can observe rare forest wildlife while either soaking in the tub or enjoying a cocktail on the private viewing deck.
Arriving at Gorilla Forest Camp showcases the spirit of service ingrained in the camp. Attendants greet guests with refreshing drinks and towels before introducing them to the many facilities of the camp. The main lodge of Gorilla Forest Camp features a gift boutique, bar, and dining cottage that afford excellent views of the rainforest. Outside, a raised platform serves as the setting for guests to dine al fresco, choosing from a menu of ever-evolving fare while various monkeys swing from branch to branch and put on a dynamic show during mealtime. Later in the evenings, educational lectures and gorilla briefings occur around the traditional campfire to prepare guests for their Uganda gorilla trekking adventures the following day.
Gorilla trekking, though the most popular, is not the only activity available at Gorilla Forest Camp. Guests can also enjoy forest walks and cultural interactions with local Batwa Pygmy inhabitants. In addition to gorillas and six other primate species, the Bwindi area is also home to unique forest-adapted animals such as the forest elephant, 200 species of butterfly, and 324 varieties of trees. For avid bird watchers, there are over 360 bird species to be found in the forest. Gorilla Forest Camp and its surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are a true paradise in Uganda and Africa.Request Information
