Property Details
The corridors and rooms of Los Patios Hotel were designed to echo Granada’s rich Spanish colonial architecture mixed with a subtle sense of Scandinavia’s minimalist style. Danish owners Erik and Ingeborg enlisted Spanish/Danish architect Maria Gomez Guillamón and Danish interior designer Malene Hasse to achieve this balance, which makes each of the five individually styled rooms exude the feeling of living in an outdoor garden. Large and airy, the rooms boast king sized beds, soaring ceilings made of local cane, private modern bathrooms, and decorative accents from Nicaraguan artisans, all juxtaposed by a soothing pattern of gray, black, and shades of white in the floor’s tile patterns. Choose from four standard rooms or the Balcony suite, with amazing views extending from Lake Nicaragua and the Mombacho volcano to the palm trees outside the city.
Los Patios’ unique minimalism design and colonial style extends beyond the rooms to the atriums and patios, where time is passed enjoying typical Nicaraguan dishes, sipping beer from the courtesy bar, or relaxing leisurely amid the quiet calm of the hotel. Guests taste only the freshest local ingredients—rice, fruit, beans, plantains, and tortillas, to name a few—personally prepared by Ingeborg and her staff and served with an eclectic array of classic and innovative cocktails. Five different patios spread throughout the grounds provide ideal spots for peaceful interludes outside, stretched out on an outdoor day bed or hammock, indulging in tropical drinks, lapping in the ecological swimming pool, or playing a game of chess on the large chess board.
Guests are welcome to spend the days lazing away in the contemplative peace of Los Patios Hotel, or they can simply walk out the front door right into the center of the historical city of Granada, a place where the Central American lifestyle bursts forth in color and charm. The second oldest city in Central America, Granada is a city of untouched tropical landscape and a proliferation of colonial grandeur, all within walking distance of the hotel.
