The Bay of Many Coves embodies a quintessential kiwi paradise where the tranquil waters, idyllic bush-clad hills, and wonderfully understated luxury apartments provide guests a perfect retreat from which to experience Marlborough Sound on their own time, away from the crowds. Accessible only by water taxi, seaplane, or helicopter, this special boutique hideaway nestled next to the water’s edge is known for its unforgettable cuisine, stunning scenery, ultimate relaxation, and offerings of adventure.
Bay of Many Coves consists of 11 private luxury apartments carefully situated on the steep hillside. Guests may choose from one-, two-, or three-bedroom apartments, with the largest accommodation able to house up to six guests at a time. These personal retreats are decorated with natural color palettes marked by warm wood interiors with sand and stone accents, textured designer fabrics, and superb architectural detailing. Fully equipped kitchenettes can be stocked with provisions from nearby Picton, and generous over-sized balconies offer uninterrupted views of the bay and Queen Charlotte Sound.
Two separate restaurants and a waterfront café led by Executive Chef Hannes Barieter feature exceptional food, fine wines, and dining. Savor the delights of fresh local seafood and produce such as Nelson scallops and Wakanui Blue beef filet paired with specially selected wines from Marlborough’s premier vintners.
Bay of Many Coves is a water-lover’s dream. Take a dip in the sea at one of the many secluded beaches nearby, lounge around the pool, or soak in the cedar Jacuzzi. For true water adventurers, sea kayaks and boating tours are perfect vessels from which to encounter the local marine wildlife of dolphins, whales, penguins, and fur seals. By land, hike the Queen Charlotte Track through the surrounding bush or journey through the evening twilight to view a stunning natural light show of glowworms. Whether nestled next to the open fire with a glass of Marlborough’s famous Sauvignon Blanc, or watching a rugby game with locals at Bight Café, guests will feel right at home at this little piece of paradise.Request Information
