Amankora Thimphu draws upon the Buddhist traditions, adhered to since the seventh century, that have created a fascinating environment in Bhutan in which the people of the nation, who believe that all life is sacred, have learned to live in harmony with their natural environment. The lodge’s architecture incorporates stone buildings and soaring ceilings in the common areas to give a sense of oneness with the natural surroundings.

There are 16 suites in two buildings, each of which feature an oversized bedroom with a sitting area and a window banquette for enjoying the amazing views either across the well-manicured courtyard or onto the nearby pine forest. The en suite bathroom is spacious and includes a shower and bathtub with a lovely view from a vertical slot window.

The outdoor dining deck looks out over the beautiful forest and a nearby stream, providing a meditative atmosphere in which to enjoy meals. Like all of the Amankora lodges, the chefs favor fresh, local, Bhutanese delicacies and ingredients, however they are able to prepare them in both traditional and international styles.

The lodge also features a spa with three treatment rooms. Guests will achieve a sense of peace and relaxation amid the incredible surroundings unlike anything else.
