Positioned next to the Lekoli River, Mboko Camp in Odzala-Kokoua National Park sits on a savannah and its rooms extend along the banks of one of the river’s tributaries. Ten rooms accommodate couples and two larger suites are designated as family cabins. Each abode has a deck with lounge chairs for relaxing and absorbing nature’s mysterious songs. Inside, solar-powered lanterns provide light at night, and a desk offers a spot to write about your African adventure. Each cabin has fans cool you off after a day of hiking and an en-suite bathroom with hot water.

The lush grassland attracts a wealth of wildlife that feed on the rich vegetation. This is the place to discover your inner explorer, in the heart of Africa where mother nature’s beauty abounds in an astounding way. It feels as though humans have touched every part of the globe, but this is one spot that still feels like the animal kingdom is in full control.

Forest buffaloes, forest elephants, and spotted hyena come out of their hiding and congregate in the lush savannah. Putty nose monkeys play around and African grey parrots dance through the trees. Explore this wild part of Africa on a safari drive. Take a boat or kayak through the silent waters beneath towering palms, as you keep an eye out for birds and beasts on the banks. Lounging dwarf crocodiles and splashing hippos can be seen in the rivers. Wade through streams to get the closest views of the abundant nature.

Walk along the boardwalk in the semi-flooded part of the forest to get a glimpse into life deep within. Bright flowers and stunning butterflies flutter through the lush, green foliage. Meet with the local people in the villages around the camp or with the leader of the gorilla conservation program.
