With the Cavalli Islands and an award-winning golf course as a backdrop, The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is a premiere destination on New Zealand's North Island. Enjoy 6,000 acres of beach, forest and golfing in this amazing picturesque location on Matauri Island.
The 22 guest suites of the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs are nestled in a native forest, overlooking the golf course and the Pacific Ocean. Absorb the view from a private terrace outside and sunny windows inside the suites. Also included in each accommodation is a gas fireplace, sitting area, minibar, plush king bed, television, and DVD and CD player. Several rooms have the option of connecting for families and groups. For superior privacy consider the Owner’s Cottage which offers two suites, a private pool, hot tub, and cooking facilities for private dining.
A short walk from the cottages, the main lodge offers gourmet dining throughout the day. Enjoy cold and hot selections for breakfast and dressy dinners featuring local produce, lamb, beef, and seafood. Nightly cocktail hours offer hors d’oeuvres and a selection of beer, wine, and spirits enjoyed with other guests. Take a swim in the lodge’s outdoor infinity pool, or retreat to the spa for a swim indoors. Experience a relaxing treatment at the spa, with the peaceful woods and a bubbling stream as your surroundings. There are also two tennis courts and a full gym to entertain those in search of more active pursuits.
Kauri Cliffs’ par 72 course snakes through the varied terrain of marsh, grass, and forest, with six holes played atop dramatic cliffs that drop straight into the sea. Guests who prefer sandy shores over sand traps can trek to one of three secluded beaches for swimming, lounging, and private barbecues arranged by lodge staff. Embark on excursions to local landmarks including Rainbow Falls and Tane Mahuta, New Zealand’s largest Kauri tree. Hunting, fishing, and clay pigeon shooting are also available for sporting guests, as well as several nature trails perfect for bird watching. Guests may also wish to take a cruise around the Cavalli Islands or board a helicopter for a scenic flight over the beautiful region.Request Information
