Miavana is an ultra-luxury lodge on the private island of Nosy Ankao off the northeast coast of Madagascar. Slated for a December 2016 reveal, this exquisite escape by Time + Tide will offer an untouched and unparalleled adventure marked by its wildlife offerings, pristine Indian Ocean setting, and collaborative conservation practices.
There are very few places in the world yet untouched by the tourism industry, but the Miavana resort seeks to open up a completely undiscovered piece of the earth to intrepid travelers everywhere come the middle of December 2016. Surrounded by vibrant coral reefs and the Indian Ocean’s spectacular maritime wonders, Miavana will consist of only 14 one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas strung along the island’s western pure white beaches. Reaching nearly 5,000 square feet in size, these palatial villas have been perfectly designed by Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens of Seychelle’s North Island and Zambia’s Chinzombo fame and will allow guests to step directly onto the powder-soft sand from their private decks to enjoy spectacular panoramic Indian Ocean sunsets extending to the far contours of mainland Madagascar.
The main lodge of Miavana will feature a sweeping white rock wall to shield the indoor areas from the elements, as well as a French garden, wine cellar dining areas, and a “chamber of curiosities” filled with some of the island’s most peculiar finds, from canon balls to lemur skeletons. Miavana will also host a beautiful outdoor dining and bar area with an outdoor swimming pool set in the sand and surrounded by greenery.
Miavana was specifically designed for nature lovers who appreciate the finer things in life. The island itself is surrounded by a pristine reef offering superb snorkeling and diving opportunities, as well as whale and dolphin watching, deep-sea fishing beyond the reef, jet skiing, kite surfing, helicopter flights, and more. The resort’s “blue safari” comprehensive guided water activities provide fascinating insights into the surrounding ecosystem as guests explore the aquamarine bays, beaches, lagoons, and channels of the archipelago. Of course, when simply wanting to relax and enjoy the wild beauty of the island, opt for strolls along the beach, fly fishing from the front door of the villa, get up close with the resident hatching turtles, lounge under a palm tree watching the world go by, or indulge in a bit of pampering in Miavana’s world-class spa. It is also possible to embark on rainforest treks and lemur safaris on helicopter day trips to mainland Madagascar.
With its wild beaches, sumptuous accommodations, world-class amenities, and incredible water adventures, Miavana promises to bring a new level of luxury and design to Madagascar and the Indian Ocean.Request Information
