More Details

This Estonia & Finland land tour first begins in Tallinn, one of Northern Europe's most beautifully preserved medieval cities.

Upon arrival, your private transfer delivers you to Hotel Telegraaf. Indeed, this property ideally situates you within the heart of Tallinn's UNESCO-listed Old Town.

The second morning then opens with a private Tallin Old Town tour. Winding cobblestone streets, merchant houses, and soaring church spires reflect centuries of Hanseatic history.

Your tour guide also leads you through Toompea Castle, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and St. Mary's Cathedral. In addition, visit such historic sites as the medieval Town Hall and the historic Great Guild Hall. Together, these landmarks offer a vivid and layered introduction to Estonia's remarkable past and present while visiting Tallinn.

A private transfer then carries you to Tallinn's ferry terminal for a first-class crossing across the Gulf of Finland. Upon arrival in Helsinki, your guide meets you at the harbor. From there, a private transfer delivers you to Hotel Kämp. Indeed, this property places you directly near the harbor, Esplanadi Park, and the city's historic center.

Helsinki of course rewards its visitors with a character all its own. Indeed, Finland's capital sits at the crossroads of Scandinavian and Russian influences, creating a distinctive cultural identity.

A private guided Helsinki walking tour opens at the Senate Square government building and Helsinki Cathedral. From there, the route continues along Mannerheimintie past the Parliament Building and Finlandia Hall. Finally, the Sibelius Monument and the extraordinary Temppeliaukio Church round out a full and richly varied day in the Finnish capital.

Helsinki also boasts several art museums, art galleries, and natural history museums. Should interests allow, Ker & Downey World Travel highly recommends including some of these highlights as well.

Finally, your Estonia & Finland land tour continues with a scenic drive north into the Finnish Lakeland. Alternatively, opt for an upgraded helicopter or float plane transfer.

The largest lake district in Europe, this vast region of forests, islands, and waterways acts as a playground for outdoor activities. Upon arrival, settle into Kotona Manor, a secluded retreat surrounded by pristine forests and clear lakes.

The following day then immerses you fully in the Finnish Lakeland experience. Here, one of Finland's most cherished traditions awaits: a sauna experience deeply rooted in the national culture. Or, the serenity of the lakeside setting and its unspoiled scenery provide all the rest and renewal you may need. Perhaps explore the property's many hiking trails, or try kayaking, canoeing, boat tours, and water sports.

The third day in the Lakeland ventures to Savonlinna, a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Saimaa. Olavinlinna Castle, a 15th-century fortress built on a small island, stands as the northernmost medieval stone castle in the world. It also hosts the internationally renowned Savonlinna Opera Festival each summer. The surrounding Lake Saimaa region also plays host to the endangered Saimaa ringed seal, found nowhere else on earth.

After breakfast on the final morning, a private transfer carries you back to Helsinki Airport. Enjoy VIP airport assistance and lounge access ahead of your onward flight.
