Southern Africa Small Group Tour Full Itinerary
South Africa
Ker & Downey’s Southern Africa Small Group Tour first begins in South Africa. Depending on your personal flight route, land in Johannesburg for a night to recover from the long trip. Then set off for three nights in the bush at the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Hundreds of species of animals roam freely between this exclusive private reserve and neighboring Kruger National Park.
Zimbabwe
After seeking out the Big Five, fly north to the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls, lovingly referred to as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or the “smoke that thunders” by the locals. While here, take in the falls from every vantage point — on a private walking tour and thrilling river cruise — discovering for yourself the undeniable beauty that mesmerized explorer David Livingstone.

Botswana
Then fly to the Dinaka Private Game Reserve, situated on the northern edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The Kalahari Desert is vast and arid. Over three days, explore the world’s second-largest game reserve and its many desert-adapted species. Then conclude your journey in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. Its many lagoons and channels are the lifeblood of Botswana, drawing massive herds of elephants as well as huge concentrations of game and birds.
Finally, board a light aircraft flight to Maun where you will connect to Johannesburg and onto your final destination. Alternatively, speak to us about how you can add onto the Southern Africa Small Group Tour with a post-tour extension!

Accommodation Highlights
Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp
Nestled deep in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve overlooking the Mshthlu riverbed, Sabi Sabi Little Bush Camp is comprised of just six luxurious suites. All suites feature contemporary African design, indoor and outdoor showers, private viewing decks, and heated spas overlooking the river.
Victoria Falls Hotel
Established in 1904, the Victoria Falls Hotel, intimately known as the “Grande Dame” to her admirers, has been the address of choice for royal families, statesmen, celebrities, and discerning travelers who wish to explore the wonders of untamed Africa. The rooms are warm and inviting, with four-poster canopy beds, antique furniture, and magnificent views of the bridge crossing into Zambia and the “smoking thunder” coming from the falls.

Dinaka
Dinaka is an intimate safari lodge of just seven raised safari tents, perched on the northern boundary of Botswana’s Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Moreover, guests benefit from stunning views of the reserve from the raised decks.
Kanana
Kanana is located within the inner reaches of the Okavango Delta. The sparkling clear and clean waters are the pulse of the region, attracting a variety of birdlife, elephants, predators, and prey. Eight luxury tents sit on raised platforms the ensure each guest has a view of the floodplain. Game drives are popular here; however, the best experience is on foot or gliding silently through the Delta by mokoro.
