Xochimilco

More Details

This Mexico City quick getaway begins first with airport assistance and a private transfer to your luxury hotel. Located on the Paseo de Reforma, St. Regis Mexico City offers the perfect stay in Mexico City.

After settling in, enjoy a private, interactive dinner led by a Michelin-trained local chef. They will not only welcome you into their personal home cooking space in Polanco. They will also create a six-course meal celebrating Mexican culinary heritage as you sip on mezcal and tequila.

Visiting Mexico City then continues with a tour of the historic center and National Museum of Anthropology.

Your private driver and guide will first take you to Zócalo (main square) to observe the engineering splendor that spans centuries. Of course, highlights include The Metropolitan Cathedral, The National Palace, Avenida Francisco Madero, and Palacio de Bellas Artes. These sites prove essential on any trip to Mexico City. Perhaps even visit Chapultepec Park and Chapultepec Castle should time allow.

Finally, tour the Mexico's most visited museum, the National Museum of Anthropology. Your private guide will lead you on a journey through the museum’s vast collection of artifacts. Indeed, the collection tells the stories of the region.

Rise early for a day trip and thrilling private sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Valley of Teotihuacán. Pass over the Sun and Moon Pyramids, and take in the vistas over the surrounding valley. Afterward, enjoy a traditional landing toast with sparkling wine and light breakfast.

You will then enjoy a guided tour of the Teotihuacán with a private bilingual guide. As such, learn about the rituals, beliefs, and everyday lives of the Aztecs and the inhabitants of before them. Meaning ‘the birthplace of the gods’ in Nahuatl, the site often acts as one of the most important in the Americas.

Finally, your perfect Mexico City long weekend concludes with a full-day of the city's southern neighborhoods.

First, your personal guide will lead you through the cobblestone streets of San Angel and artistic Coyoacán. Of course, the main highlight is a visit to Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul, a blue house where the Mexican painter lived and died. Today the Frida Kahlo Museum offers insight into her incredible life.

Then your guide will take you to the Mercado de Coyoacán, where you can savor the flavors of authentic Mexican food for lunch.

It all concludes with a float down the fiesta-filled waterways of Xochimilco. Traverse the ancient canals on a colorful trajinera boat, a replica Aztec-era canoe. Learn about the Aztec's techniques for growing food upon the fertile riverbeds. You will no doubt also enjoy the mariachis, taqueros, and beer slinging vendors that contribute to the fun atmosphere.

Your five days in Mexico City have finally come to an end. Your private driver will meet you in the your hotel lobby for your transfer to Mexico City International Airport. Here a Ker & Downey representative will assist you with check-in prior to your departing flight onward.
