More Details

Your Ring Road Private Tour first begins in the country’s capital of Reykjavik. After a quick overnight to rest up from your journey, it is time to set out on the famous ring road.

First, explore the Golden Circle with your private guide. Then settle in to your luxury manor accommodations located along the southern shores of Iceland. Over two days, you will have the chance to see jaw-dropping waterfalls, like Skogarfoss, as well as black sandy beaches that extend beyond what the eye can see.

Your Ring Road Private Tour then extends to the eastern reaches of Iceland — a region to which few journey. However, the rewards are well worth it. Settle in for two nights near Glacier Lagoon, which is a great launching pad for exploring the region’s iconic Diamond Beach. Jokulsarlon lagoon — one of the natural wonders of Iceland with its floating icebergs — is also nearby.

You will have an entire day to drive through the many fjords of the east. Indeed, at every fjord you will find a small fishing village, each with its unique charm. Stop at a local farm in Havarí for lunch. Visit the “monster” living at the bottom of Lake Lagarfljot. And relax in the geothermal floating pools of Vök Baths.

Follow the Ring Road to Myvatn next. The Myvatn area in the north is a playground for your senses: Impressive waterfalls, moon-like landscapes, stunning calderas, and hot springs are everywhere. You will no doubt marvel at the magnificent lava fields, Crater Lake, and hot mud pools. A highlight here, of course, is Dettifoss waterfall, the most powerful waterfall in Europe.

You will eventually stop in Akureyri, the capital of the north, for two nights. While here, go whale and puffin watching in Husavik. An entire day has also been set aside to explore the many museums and galleries of Akureyri, as well as the city’s Botanical Garden, which is known far and wide for its beautiful walking paths and flora. Indeed, it contains nearly every plant found in Iceland (around 450) and nearly 7,000 foreign plants.

Finally, conclude your Iceland Ring Road Private Tour in the west. A long but beautiful drive full of waterfalls, giant craters, and idyllic farm visits brings you to Snaefellsness Peninsula. This region is a birder’s paradise, with sandy beaches on one side, mountains on the other, and the might Snaefellsjokull glacier towering over. Indeed, there is a reason why Jules Verne picked Snaefellsjokull as the beginning of his book, Journey to the Center of the Earth. Explore the wealth of caves, volcanic craters chasms, fantastic lava formations, island-dotted fjords, and basalt columns found here.

Then visit the Borgarfjordur region for your final Ring Road Luxury Tour adventures. Witness the most powerful hot springs in Europe at Deildartunguhver. View the mighty Barnafoss and Hraunfossar waterfalls. Journey to the magical underworld of the Vidgelmir lava cave. And tour the many sulphur springs of Reykjanes peninsula.

At last, your Ring Road Private Tour concludes with a private tour of the capital city of Reykjavik. Visit the House of Parliament, Harpa Concert Hall, Hallgrimskirkja church, and a couple of museums of your choice. Finally, enjoy some ample R&R at The Retreat at Blue Lagoon — an indulgent conclusion to an epic trip around the land of Fire and Ice.
