Yerevan
This Georgia and Armenia travel package first begins in Yerevan, a city older than Rome itself. Upon arrival at Zvartnots International Airport, a private transfer delivers you to The Alexander, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Indeed, it represents one of the finest Armenia luxury hotels in the capital.
Then your first full morning opens with an immersive exploration of Yerevan's cultural heart. Highlights include Republic Square, the monumental Cascade Complex, and its open-air collection of contemporary Armenian art. Also stop at the History Museum of Armenia to view its rare artefacts, ancient inscriptions, and masterful craftsmanship.
In addition, a private visit to the legendary Yerevan Brandy Factory reveals one of Armenia's most celebrated traditions. Indeed, a guided tasting proves one of the most rewarding stops on any tour of Armenia and Georgia.
You will then take a day trip to the Ararat Plain and Areni Wine Region. First stop at Khor Virap Monastery -- its ancient walls rising dramatically at the foot of Mount Ararat. This is also the birthplace of Armenia's Christian identity and one of the country's most revered pilgrimage sites. From there, the road winds into the striking red-rock canyon of Noravank Monastery, a 13th-century masterpiece.
Nearby Areni then introduces one of the most ancient winemaking cultures on earth. A curated tasting of indigenous grape varieties, paired with regional cuisine, connects Armenian culture with millennia-old winemaking traditions.
Dzoraget
You will eventually depart Yerevan and journey north toward Georgia. But first, take in some of Armenia's most extraordinary ancient sites. This of course includes Garni Temple, the only surviving Greco-Roman colonnaded temple in the Caucasus. From there, the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery reveals the depth and artistry of Armenia's early Christian heritage.
You will then reach Lake Sevan, one of the world's largest high-altitude freshwater lakes. Here, Sevanavank Monastery crowns the peninsula with sweeping views across the water.
The visit to Armenia finally continues through forested mountains to Dilijan, Armenia's "Little Switzerland," before arriving at Tufenkian Avan Dzoraget Hotel. Indeed, this tranquil riverside retreat sits amid the dramatic landscapes of northern Armenia.
Crossing the border from Armenia into Georgia, the route passes through lush countryside before arriving in Tbilisi. First, a brief stop at Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, marks a fitting farewell to your Armenia travel package.
Upon arrival in Tbilisi, settle into Paragraph Freedom Square, a Luxury Collection Hotel.
Then embark on a privately guided walking tour through the city's Old Town. Highlights include the historic Metekhi Church, panoramic views from Narikala Fortress, the famous sulfur bath district, and the contemporary Bridge of Peace. Elegant Rustaveli Avenue then introduces the city's theatres, museums, and grand cultural institutions.
Next, journey east into Kakheti, Georgia's celebrated wine region. Upon arrival, your local guide will lead you on a tour of the hilltop town of Sighnaghi, often called the "City of Love.
From there, Bodbe Monastery, the resting place of St. Nino, remains one of Georgia's most sacred pilgrimage sites. A private winery visit then introduces Georgia's unique qvevri winemaking method, an 8,000-year-old UNESCO-recognized tradition.
Afterward, settle into Tsinandali Estate, a vineyard retreat in the heart of Kakheti.
The following day explores eastern Georgia's historic heartlands. Highlights of the morning include Gremi Fortress and the soaring cathedral of Alaverdi Monastery. Finally, the afternoon unfolds at Château Mosmieri, where refined wine tastings invite you to fully savor Kakheti's culinary richness.
En route north toward Kazbegi, enjoy one of the Caucasus' most spectacular drives along the historic Georgian Military Highway. Along the way, you will stop at Ananuri Fortress before arriving at Rooms Hotel Kazbegi.
The following morning, set out on a peaceful visit to the Dariali Monastery Complex, surrounded by soaring mountains. Then embark on a short hike to the secluded Gveleti Waterfalls, hidden among lush alpine scenery.
Finally, an intimate khinkali masterclass hosted by a local family brings the day to a warm and authentic close. Few experiences on this tour of Armenia and Georgia capture the spirit of the Caucasus region quite as vividly.
Lastly, the return to Tbilisi passes through two of Georgia's most significant sites. This includes Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO-listed masterpiece, and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in the ancient capital of Mtskheta. Indeed, the former stands as the spiritual heart of the entire nation and is said to house the Robe of Christ.
A relaxed farewell evening in Tbilisi follows before departure the next morning.
