Property Details

The Serai Desert Camp is a collection of 21 canvas tented suites clustered on 30 acres of The Serai’s private estate. Each climate-controlled tent is separated by long, angular stone walkways and is outfitted with a private veranda, lounge, bedroom, and en suite bathroom with twin vanities and rain showers. Six Luxury tented suites feature a private walled garden and a plunge pool, while the Royal tented suite boasts its own private spa and lounge tents. The tents’ decor is a testament to bygone elegance, utilizing deep reds and echoing the indigenous desert scrubs and sands outside with hues of tan and brown.

The acclaimed SUJÁN Spa at Serai Desert Camp was conceived by the world-renowned Raison d’Etre spa company and offers an eclectic menu of indulgent treatments. Pampering is the aim in the garden’s four treatment tents, with Indian spices and chemical-free products creating a comforting blend of relaxation and renewal. The main pool, which is part of a unique water filtration and recycling system, is inspired from the ancient step-wells that are found throughout the Great Thar. Desert dining is redefined with the western and local cuisine served in the dining tent, using produce from the camp’s organic garden. For liquid refreshment, the tented library and bar offer cocktails in a cozy setting.

The expert staff of Serai Desert Camp consists of the region’s finest dedicated butlers and experienced guides, all of whom are from local communities and are committed to providing the very best in service. Venture off the estate for sightseeing by camel or horseback, or opt for a speedy adventure in the seat of a desert vehicle through Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is an oasis within India’s Thar Desert, a landscape of dunes and medieval fortresses that extend as the eye can see. The area is home to a range of desert wildlife, including rare species like the Great Indian Bustard and the elusive Indian Gazelle. After each day’s activities, gather around the campfire for conversation and entertainment under the stars – the perfect end to a day of luxurious adventure in the timeless desert kingdom of Jaisalmer.
