The island of Taveuni is the third largest island in Fiji. It has a diverse tropical landscape of rainforest, mountain ridges, waterfalls, and beaches and is commonly referred to as the “Garden Island of Fiji” because of its variety of flora, including the rare tagimaucia flower, found exclusively around Lake Tagimaucia. Because of Taveuni’s rich landscape, it supports a variety of activities including diving at Eel Reef, the Great White Wall, and Rainbow Reef, visiting local villages, trekking to the Bouma waterfalls and world-class bird watching in the Bouma National Heritage Park, and game fishing.
Just to the east of Tavenui, lie the three small islands of Laucala, home to the exclusive Laucala Island Resort, Qamea, and the recently-accessible Matagi. Secluded five-star accommodations, a championship golf course, and rejuvenating spa treatments await in this tropical paradise.
