The Belmond Eastern and Oriental Express, Singapore – Bangkok

Step back in time on Belmond’s Eastern and Oriental Express on a two or three night journey between the vibrant cities of Bangkok and Singapore. The route follows the passage inspired by the 1932 classic film, Shanghai Express, through gently unfolding rural landscapes, past temples, tea plantations, colonial cities, ancient villages and historic monuments. Onboard, the Eastern and Oriental Express is the epitome of class and comfort with daily in-cabin breakfast deliveries of croissants, fruit, and coffee, a colonial-style, teakwood Observation Car with an open-air deck, and two Restaurant Cars, Rosaline and Malaya, bedecked with white table linens and exquisite crystal.

Rovos Rail, Namibia

Departing on select dates in 2017, the Rovos Rail journey through Namibia transports travelers to a bygone era of luxury train travel as it makes its way through southern Africa’s stunning desert landscapes. From the mining settlements of South Africa to the deserts of Namibia, you’ll retrace the path pioneers took as they flocked in search of fortune in the diamond mines. A flight excursion into Sossusvlei gives you a greater perspective of Namibia’s incredible desert scenery of red and gold sand dunes. At the end of the train journey, an experience worth adding onto your itinerary is a stay at Serra Cafema Camp, a luxury camp on the Kunene River. From there, you can track desert-adapted elephants and visit local settlements to meet the Himba people to round out your journey through Namibia.

Belmond Hiram Bingham, Peru

The Belmond Hiram Bingham offers a luxury train journey through the Sacred Valley, between Machu Picchu and Cusco. The Jacobite, Scotland

The train continues to one of the most famous and beautiful stretches of coastline – The Silver Sands of Morar. On a clear day, you can see the enchanting isles of Muck, Eigg, and Rum, with Skye to be seen in the distance.

Seven Stars, Japan

In a world of high speed trains, it’s nice to slow things down a bit in Japan. The luxurious Seven Stars is very exclusive: just 14 suites and room for 30 people. It’s Japan’s first sleeper train and travels through a landscape of volcanoes, cypress trees, bamboo, rice fields, and a shoreline of boats on the southwestern island of Kyushu.

Belmond Grand Hibernian, Ireland

The Belmond Grand Hiberian is set to launch in April 2017 as the country’s first luxury touring train from April to October. A maximum of 40 guests onboard will enjoy private en-suite cabins and discover remote areas and attractions throughout Ireland, including ancient castles, famous whiskey distilleries and vibrant cities. Two, four and six-night journeys will depart from Dublin and will travel throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Maharaja’s Express, India
