Itinerary Description:

Full of wonders of the past, Alexandria is the first stop on your journey. From luxurious accommodations facing the Mediterranean at the Four Seasons Hotel at San Stefano, set off into the city to explore the secret catacombs of Kom El Shogafa and the Roman-era Pompey's Pillar. You will also have the chance to see the shimmering Bibliotheca Alexandria, a stunning architectural wonder which honors the lost library of old and has become a center for literacy, discovery, and the arts for the modern age.

Next, head into the Western Desert, stopping along the way at the El-Alamein World War II Museum and Memorial, commemorating a series of battles between Axis and Allied forces in northern Africa. The Siwa Oasis welcomes you in an amazing contrast of yellow sands, green date palms, and the blue waters of Lake Siwa. Stay in the traditional-style Adrère Amellal Lodge, hand-built in the traditional Siwan style, and explore the oasis and desert on thrilling excursions.

Fayoum is Egypt’s oldest city and it is best experienced from the comfortable confines of Lazib Inn. Explore this ancient oasis area and the fascinating beauty of Lake Qaroun before continuing on to Cairo.

The famed Nile River is next as you embark on a cruise aboard the Sonesta Star Goddess, one of the most elegant ships currently traveling the Nile. The ship will take you to some of the new wonders of the region, like the High Dam and relocated Philae Temple, and the recognizable sites inhabited by ancient Egyptians. Explore Kom Ombo, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the Valley of the Kings, and Karnak while every need is attended to on board the ship.
