Private Namibia Safari
The Namibia Fly-In Safari by Ker & Downey includes scenic air transfers between three of Namibia’s most striking natural wonders: Etosha National Park, Damaraland, and the pans and dunes of Sossusvlei. Explore the enchanting beauty of this captivating country on our custom, private Namibia luxury safari.
Windhoek is the first destination on your journey, its German-colonial streets welcoming you to Namibia and an evening at The Olive Exclusive Hotel preparing you for the journey ahead.
Etosha National Park is the first destination in the wilderness on your Namibia Fly-In Safari. It derives its name from the massive salt pan that dominates about 1,800 square miles of the park. In fact, the salt pan is so massive it can be seen from space.
Arriving to the Onguma Game Reserve, just next door to the park, The Fort will be your refuge for the first part of your journey. This Namibia luxury lodge is imbued with unique Moroccan and Indian flair, and its tall tower looks out over the magical landscape. Spy on plains game, big cats, and a family of black rhinos on game drives and bush walks with your skilled guides.
Your Namibia Fly-In Safari continues in Damaraland, a rugged and mountainous region. Sorris Sorris Lodge is your next Namibia luxury safari accommodation, with eco-friendly low-profile buildings and a network of raised decks perched atop a hill of boulders. The wonders of Brandberg and other granite massifs are a short drive away, all displaying some 6,000 years of rock art to discover. View the area from above on a unique safari through the sky in a hot air balloon.
Fly to Sossusvlei, a region recognized for its red and gold towering sand dunes and the stark landscape. Your Namibia Fly-in safari takes you along the coast and over the Namib Sand Sea (a World Heritage Site). From the plane, you’ll be able to see the deserted mines, shipwrecks, and seal colonies. During your scenic flight, keep your eyes open for the Eduard Bohlen cargo ship that ran aground in 1909. The wreck sits about 1,600 feet from the ocean and is the best-preserved shipwreck along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast.
andBeyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge sits within the Namib Desert, surrounded by dunes and mountains, and borders the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of only a handful of Dark Sky Reserves in the world. To take advantage of that, each suite is fitted with a skylight in the roof for stargazing from the bed. There’s also a resident astronomer and world-class observatory for more in-depth star gazing.
Explore the Naukluft National Park, home to some of the highest free-standing dunes in the world, as well as Sossusvlei pan, the most frequently visited section of the park. From the lodge, depart on daily activities to see the famous dunes and ancient petrified trees that have appeared in Hollywood blockbusters like The Cell and Mad Max: Fury Road. While exploring, keep an eye out for oryx, springbok, mountain zebra, and the elusive leopard.
