More Details

Tour Montenegro in style and comfort on this weeklong tour by Ker & Downey World Travel. After arriving at Tivat Airport, your private driver will whisk you away to your hotel in the town of Kotor. Indeed, the Historic Boutique Hotel Cattaro blends history and modernity within the UNESCO-protected walls of Kotor.

However, if you prefer, we recommend upgrading to the One&Only Portonovi in Herceg Novi for an unmatched stay. Here you can admire beautiful views of the bay of Boka.

On your first day, follow your guide through Kotor’s medieval streets on a private walking tour. Indeed, you will admire baroque palaces, Venetian architecture, and fortified city walls. Nestled within Europe’s only natural fjord, Kotor is an essential stop on any Montenegro travel itinerary.

Then journey onward through the towns of Dobrota, Ljuta, Perast, and Risan toward Ostrog Monastery. Monks carved this 17th-century monastery into a sheer rock face, offering commanding views over the Zeta river valley. Explore both the Lower and Upper Monasteries, including cave churches and the sacred relics of St. Basil of Ostrog. Finally, end the day back in Kotor with time to relax or explore at leisure.

Your Montenegro tour then continues with a private transfer to the town of Budva. Pause en route at Lovcen National Park, where the Njegoš Mausoleum crowns Lake Peak. Also visit Cetinje Monastery, tour the Royal Palace, and weave through the roads of Njeguši village. Finally, meet a local family and savor smoked ham before arriving to Hotel Budva in Budva.

For an extra dose of luxury, we recommending upgrading to Villa Geba on Sveti Stefan. Situated along the Adriatic Coast, it provides lovely views of the Adriatic Sea from its rock island location.

Spend the next days uncovering Montenegro’s coastal gems. For example, wander Budva’s old town, then head south to Bar, famous for its boulevards and unique flora. Additionally, visit the Old Olive Tree, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before reaching Ulcinj. This town brims with Venetian, Ottoman, and seafaring history, making it a fascinating stop for a boat ride.

Next, explore Skadar Lake National Park, a sanctuary for birdlife, with your private guide. Stroll through Virpazar, climb its 15th-century fortress, and embark on a three-hour Montenegro boat tour to Kom Monastery. A boat trip on Lake Skadar proves highly recommended on any Montenegro travel itinerary. Finally, enjoy a wine tasting at a family vineyard where you will pair local vintages with traditional Montenegrin cuisine.

On your final day, your private driver will transfer you to Tivat Airport for your departure. You will no doubt leave Montenegro enriched by its landscapes, history, and vibrant spirit.
