More Details
Your journey first begins on arrival in Istanbul and your hotel, the Four Seasons Istanbul at the Bosphorus. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure along the waterway that connects both east and west.
The following day then introduces the heart of the city on a private tour with a local guide. First begin at the Hippodrome, once the center of Roman civic life. Then continue to the Hagia Sophia as well as Topkapi Palace, former residence of Ottoman empire sultans.
Also visit the Blue Mosque, renowned for its six minarets and shimmering tiles. Finally, end the day wandering the Grand Bazaar, where thousands of stalls showcase spices, textiles, and jewelry.
You will then have the chance to experience Istanbul through its culinary and artistic traditions. Join a private Turkish cooking class and prepare dishes rooted in Ottoman and home-style cuisine. Afterward, explore the antique-filled streets of Cukurcuma and stroll Istiklal Avenue through Nevizade. Later, participate in an Ebru paper marbling workshop.
Your best of Turkey tour then continues in Cappadocia, one of the highlights when visiting Turkey. On arrival in Kayseri, begin exploring the region’s surreal landscapes on a private guided tour. Visit Soganli Valley and its rock-cut churches nestled near traditional villages. Next, continue to Kaymakli Underground City, where early Christian communities once hid beneath the earth.
You will eventually check in to the Museum Hotel, your luxurious home for the next two nights.
During your time here, you will become immersed in Turkish culture and traditions. Visit a local family for lunch and learn how to prepare regional dishes, pastries, and desserts.
In addition, travel to Avanos to visit a master drum maker. Finally, watch as ancient techniques shape clay into instruments known as Udu. You will of course have the chance to listen to the instrument as sound fills the workshop.
In the evenings, consider attending a Whirling Dervish ceremony and dining at a local restaurant. Indeed, this will allow you to further experience the region’s spiritual and culinary heritage. Should you wish, Ker & Downey can also organize a hot air balloon ride above the chimneys one morning.
Finally, conclude your best of Turkey tour along the coast. Your private driver will transfer to Kayseri Airport for your flight to Izmir via Istanbul. Upon arrival, visit the hilltop village of Şirince. Also wander narrow lanes where women sell handicrafts, olive oil, and local wines.
After lunch near Ephesus, explore one of the ancient world’s greatest cities. Walk the ancient ruins and visit the Terrace Houses before transferring to Kuşadası and Charisma De Luxe Hotel.
While in the region, also visit the Oleatrium, devoted to olive oil and its deep roots in Anatolian life. Then continue to Kirazli Village, Türkiye’s first eco-agriculture community. Stone houses, terracotta roofs, and fruit orchards surround this close-knit village.
You will eventually kick off the Georgia luxury tour package portion of your trip in Batumi. Upon arrival by plane via Istanbul, transfer to Rooms Hotel Batumi. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, relaxing along the Black Sea coast.
Then depart Batumi and travel inland to Kutaisi, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Visit the UNESCO-listed Gelati Monastery before continuing onward to Borjomi. Here you will check in at Hotel Borjomi Likani, set amid forested hills and mineral springs.
The next day, journey toward Tbilisi with meaningful stops at historical sites along the way. For example, visit Gori, the birthplace of Josef Stalin, and the cave city of Uplistsikhe, carved into rock more than two thousand years ago.
Also, your tour includes a stop in Mtskheta, Georgia’s ancient capital and spiritual heart. Finally, visit Jvari Monastery and the UNESCO-listed Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, believed to house Christ’s mantle.
Arrive in Tbilisi and check in at Rooms Hotel Tbilisi for the evening.
Of course, no Georgia and Turkey tour is complete without a stop in in the wine region of Kakheti. Therefore, travel east to Sighnaghi, a walled hilltop town overlooking the vineyard. Check in at Kabadoni Hotel and visit the Sighnaghi State Museum and Bodbe Monastery.
In the evening, participate in a hands-on culinary experience with a local chef. Learn to prepare traditional Georgian dishes, bake bread, distill chacha, and explore ancient qvevri winemaking techniques recognized by UNESCO. Enjoy a festive Georgian feast accompanied by folklore and music as a final farewell.
