Amsterdam Luxury City Tour

Upon arrival in Amsterdam, enjoy a VIP meet and greet at the airport as you relax in the luxury VIP lounge while your baggage arrives and customs and immigration formalities are completed. Then your private chauffeur will transfer you to your exceptional luxury hotel in the center of Amsterdam.

After freshening up, set out on a private half-day orientation tour of the city with your private guide. Of course, this tour will be tailored to suit your interests. But your local guide will remain flexible as they give you an Amsterdammer’s view of the city alongside some typical Dutch snacks. Your car and chauffeur will remain at your disposal should you wish to drive instead of walk at any point during your Amsterdam luxury city tour.

On your first evening in Amsterdam, enjoy a private tour and concert at the Concertgebouw. The Concertgebouw is one of the best concert halls in the world, famous for its exceptional acoustics. It serves as the home base of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and features performances by the world’s best orchestras, conductors, and soloists.

Next, your Amsterdam long layover dives into some of the city’s most famous museums. Ker & Downey can arrange a specialist museum guide or historian in each museum for a more in-depth visit.

First up is The Rijksmuseum, which offers a representative overview of Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages onwards. Indeed, it showcases works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals, and more. Its most famous work is Rembrandt’s masterpiece, The Night Watch. Next, the Van Gogh Museum holds the largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh in the world. It also boasts an extensive offer of exhibitions on various subjects from 19th-century art history.

After a full morning of museums, enjoy a private cheese tasting at Reypaener cheese, Holland’s best cheese producer. Here you can personally test and evaluate the flavor, the aroma, and the qualities of the Reypenaer cheeses with wine and port all under the guidance of an expert cheese taster.

Finally, the second day of your Amsterdam luxury city tour concludes with a three-hour private dinner canal cruise on a 1920’s Saloon boat. Your private Saloon boat can take you anywhere in Amsterdam, from the narrow canals of the Jordaan area to the heart of the famed red-light district. We’ve collaborated with several top-class restaurants in Amsterdam to bring your three-course dinner to life. For each course, the boat will tie up at a different top restaurant in the city.

During the final day on your Amsterdam long layover or cruise extension, go beyond the city. First journey to the Aalsmeer flower auction, the world’s largest flower auction with over 20 million flowers sold daily. Your private guide will explain the whole process as you view the auction from a special gallery.

Then continue to the Louwman Museum, which contains the world’s oldest private collection automobiles. Highlights include various old Spykers, James Bond’s DB-5 Aston Martin, the D-type Jaguar (winner of the 1957 Le Mans), and Prince Bernard’s old Ferrari. The museum also displays the second oldest car in the world: a De Dion Bouton & Trepardoux (1887).

Next, venture to The Hague city center. Together with your private guide visit the Mauritshuis. This museum possesses one of the most beautiful collections of Dutch paintings in the world. Indeed, it houses Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Goldfinch, and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. You will also have a chance to walk through the historic city center, including the Binnenhof and Escher in the Palace. Here you will meet the curator or director for a tour through the famous visions of artist M.C. Escher.

Finally, conclude your day at Kinderdijk on the outskirts of Rotterdam, a great spot to see windmills in the middle of the countryside. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kinderdijk has 19 windmills on both sides of the canals. Your specialist guide will lead you on a tour of this picturesque area. You will then return back to Amsterdam for your final night on your Amsterdam luxury city tour.
