Vietnam

Begin your journey in Hanoi, Vietnam’s dynamic capital city. Wind your way through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter for a delicious tour of the best street food. At the Temple of Literature you’ll meet one of the country’s top historians. Continue your travel to Indochina at Ha Long Bay. Take an idyllic cruise aboard a traditional sailing junk, the Halong Violet. Floating villages, hidden caves, and the towering limestone karsts are among the sights you’ll take in on the emerald waters.

On day four, travel to Hue, the former imperial city home to the tombs of Vietnam’s royal past. Tour the Citadel, the river, and the medieval architectural wonders before driving along the South China Sea coast to Hoi An, a trading port of old. The city is famous for its quaint cafes and shops, especially the expert tailors who will craft a fine suit at a fraction of Western prices. In Hoi An, cycle to the local fishing villages and farmlands of the coastal countryside.

Ho Chi Minh City, or Saigon, is the final stop in the Vietnam segment of your travel to Indochina. You will see iconic French-colonial landmarks like the Opera House and walk through the streets of bustling Chinatown. Outside of the city, cycle through Vietnam’s “rice basket”, Cai Lay at the Mekong Delta. You also have the option of meeting a former VC soldier or attending a prayer ceremony at a Cao Dai temple.

Cambodia

Your travel to Indochina continues on day 12 when you depart for Cambodia. Ancient Siem Reap is next, the epicenter of Cambodia’s Khmer civilization. See the ruins of Ta Prohm, the Bayon temple, and the stunning Angkor Wat with your private guide. The day culminates with an afternoon balloon flight over the sprawling Angkor Wat complex. More Khmer culture is presented at the state-of-the-art Angkor National Museum in the city, tracing the traditions and accomplishments of the Golden Era of the Khmer Kingdom.

Laos

Travel to peaceful Luang Prabang in Laos on day 15 of your travel to Indochina. Explore the colorful temples and revered images of Buddha. Escape to the countryside via the Khan River and hike to the picturesque Tad Se Waterfall. Your days here are left intentionally fluid, allowing you to craft your own experiences with your Ker & Downey designer.

Thailand

Close your trip in Thailand’s cosmopolitan capital, Bangkok. Take a tuk-tuk through old Bangkok and Chinatown with your private guide. Cruise the river through the heart of the city to see the opulent Grand Palace and Wat Po’s massive reclining Buddha. On the morning of your departure, rise to witness the spectacle of the Damnonen Saduak floating market, ending your trip in a flourish of color and fragrance.
