Your private driver will then transfer you into the Transylvania region—and seemingly back in time—as you are surrounded by the charm and culture of the castles and villages of the Carpathian Mountains.
Brașov
First stop in Sinaia to visit the fairytale Peles Castle, a Neo-Renaissance masterpiece surrounded by pine forests. Then continue to Brașov, where Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture create an enchanting atmosphere.
After settling into your comfortable accommodations at Schuster Boarding House, explore the medieval streets of Brașov on a private walking tour. Visit Rope Street, one of Europe’s narrowest passages, and the imposing Black Church.
The next day, take a day trip to Bran to visit Bran Castle, famously linked to the Dracula legend. Though its ties to Vlad the Impaler are tenuous, its turrets, towers, and sweeping views of the Carpathians make it an essential stop on any Romania Bulgaria Tour.
Filiași
Journey deeper into Transylvania as you transfer onward to Filiași, where your 16th century castle accommodations offer a unique immersion into the region.
En route to Filiași, enjoy a stop in Viscri, probably the most well known village in Transylvania. Walk along cobblestone streets lined with pastel facades and admire the Church on the Hill, Clock Tower, and Spoonman’s Gallery, where you can meet local artisans.
The next day, take a day trip to the village of Corund, where craftspeople still produce pottery, honey, and textiles using centuries-old techniques. Taste regional delicacies and enjoy an authentic cultural experience in the heart of Transylvania.
Cincsor
Next, travel to the charming village of Cincsor and stay in beautifully restored guesthouses. Here, you’ll enjoy a private cooking class, learning how to prepare refined Saxon and Hungarian dishes using fresh local ingredients.
Visit the village’s fortified Lutheran church and meet locals who preserve centuries of heritage. Before returning to Bucharest, stop at Fagaras Citadel, one of Transylvania’s best-preserved medieval fortresses, surrounded by a tranquil moat.
