Greenland Travel Package to Nuuk - Greenland Adventure with Ker & Downey
Uunartoq Hot Springs

More Details

This Greenland travel package first begins in Nuuk, a small city of 18,000 on the country's southwest coast. Once you arrive, you will embark on a privately guided tour of the city. Visit the National Museum and the colonial harbor and gain insights into Nuuk's history, customs, and Inuit culture.

Additionally, enjoy a private home visit to a local family, listening to their stories about life on the island.

Finally, your time in Nuuk concludes with a private full-day Icefjord cruise. Venture north of Nuuk and discover why this region of Greenland is renowned for waterfalls, humpback whales, and icebergs.

Your Greenland travel package then continues with a regional flight to Narsuarsuaq, the gateway to the Norse ruins of south Greenland. Explore Kujataa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and witness the first known example of agriculture in the Arctic.

After settling in to your hotel in Qaqartog, you will spend an entire day bathing in the hot springs of Uunartoq, only accessible by boat.

An additional highlight of your time in Qaqartog will no doubt be a day trip to the best-preserved Norse ruins in Greenland and a stop at the Qaqortoq Museum.

Your time in Qaqartog, however, will mostly be about the people. Visit a Greenlandic fur factory where highly skilled artisans work with tanning and production of all kinds of Greenlandic fur. Also gain entry into an authentic, local home workshop and boutique to learn how local craftsmen shape various objects foraged from the Greenlandic countryside.

Of course, you will also have plenty of opportunities to experience traditional Greenlandic kaffemik and storytelling. Hear stories about life on the island, and enjoy some home-baked pastries and traditional food for an even better sense of this beautiful nation.

On your final day, a boat will take you to Narsarsuaq where you will be transferred back to the Nuuk airport for your departing flight onward.
