Itinerary Description:

Begin your Endangered Species Flying Safari in Nairobi, where your private plane takes off for the Masai Mara. Enjoy cooling refreshments when you land, and embark on your first game drive into the reserve, on your way to the Encounter Mara Camp. Explore the stunning Masai Mara Game Reserve during your time here, including a special lion and cheetah tracking session with an expert from the Mara-Meru predator project.

Continue your journey with a private flight to Laikipia, including a magnificent scenic flight over the Great Rift Valley en route. Loisaba Tented Camp is your home base, perched on the edge of a natural escarpment with unobstructed views across the landscape all the way to Mt. Kenya. The focus here is African wild dog, an endangered species which struggles due to human encroachment. Accompany your wildlife expert and track these packs of rare mammals with the help of radio collars. The region near Loisaba is also home to large numbers of the vulnerable reticulated giraffe, the endangered Grevy’s zebra, hippo, buffalo, warthog, lion, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, and lots of antelope species.

The Lewa Conservancy is next, staying in the thatch-covered tented suites of Lewa Safari Camp. Spot the endangered grey crowned crane at the Lewa marshlands, meet rhino and Grevy's zebra experts at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy headquarters, and go behind the scenes of the conservation operations of the Northern Rangelands Trust.

Your last destination on your unforgettable Endangered Species Flying Safari is the Samburu National Game Reserve. En route, fly low along the Waso Nyiro river banks where elephants and hippos gather. Commune with even more elephants during your stay at Elephant Watch Camp, where you are hosted by Saba Douglas Hamilton and her team of elephant experts from Save The Elephants. Track elephants with the researchers who are working to reduce the instances of poaching, exploring by foot and by safari vehicle. You will learn members of the herd by name, cementing your connection to these special creatures and this magnificent country.
