Tanzania Fly-In Safari
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and overnight at the Arusha Coffee Lodge. Continue to Tarangire National Park, where the Tarangire Treetops team will meet you for an afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. Spend two nights in a Tree House, a unique dwelling that meanders through the branches of thousand-year old trees. Enjoy a full day of activities including game drives, a visit to an authentic Masai village, a game-walk, sundowners in the bush and a night game drive. The area is home to thousands of resident elephants and huge herds of buffalo, a good place to see leopard and lion and a wide variety of plains game.
After breakfast you will enjoy a morning game drive through Tarangire National Park. Stop at leisure for a picnic lunch on your way to Kuro Airstrip, where your flight departs for the Ngorongoro Crater area. Your two-night stay will be at The Manor at Ngorongoro, located on a huge coffee estate with magnificent views over the coffee bushes to far-flung African horizons. Drive down the crater for a full day of exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater, with a picnic lunch served on the crater floor. Endangered black rhino are protected within its rim, giant tusked elephants wander the forests, black-maned lions stalk the grasslands, and flamingoes crowd the soda lakes.
On your sixth day, you may opt to visit the Lake Manyara National Park or stay at the lodge to explore the estate. Depart for your flight into the Serengeti, arriving at Serengeti Migration Camp in time for sundowners. You will spend the next two nights in a luxurious safari tent, hidden in a beautiful place full of enchanting silence and peace. It is not possible to say with any accuracy where the Great Migration of the wildebeest will be at any one time. It all depends on the rains and the grazing, but the area around Serengeti Migration Camp gives you a great chance. A day’s game driving in the Serengeti an absolute delight and an experience to be treasured and remembered.
Before you fly back to Arusha to catch your departing flight, you may take an early morning game walk to explore along the banks of the great Grumeti River.
