The end of the year is just around the corner. How do you want to finish off 2013? Maybe you want to travel to a new destination or start a new family tradition that includes a hand-crafted Ker & Downey journey. Recently we asked some of the sales team at Ker & Downey to share their travel experiences from this year with us and, to get in the holiday spirit, some of their special holiday traditions. Below Anne talks about her journey to Africa this year and her favorite holiday traditions.
This year I visited Botswana, South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania. I have been to each of these countries several times but these trips were excellent overviews of camps and areas I had not seen, as well as a different time of year in which to travel. Who knew you could literally spend two weeks in Northern Kenya and see so many different areas and terrain before heading south to the Mara! These experiences only enhanced my knowledge of the areas and, going forward, will allow me to advise my clients with first-hand knowledge of what to expect at this time of year. I flew Emirates and Qatar which gave me direct experience to share with clients, and I look forward to mastering Turkish Airlines’ experience in November.
As I look ahead to the rest of 2013 I can’t help but think about the upcoming holiday season. I look forward to pulling out all of my holiday decorations which I have collected from all over the world. Whether it’s ornaments from India, the Galapagos, Egypt or Morocco, or maybe a nativity scene from Peru, Malawi or Zambia, I am reminded at this time of year of the wonderful trips I have been fortunate enough to enjoy.
